Artist's Comments

I decided, since I don't have access to camera or scanner right now and can't show anything for my multi-month absence, I'd stick up this piece I've worked on off and on for a while (drew Chetsidess last summer (07), scanned and did some cleanup that fall, did more cleanup and started adding color about two weeks ago.) WAY more to go before she is done, background, shading, scale details....... lots.

I'm also working, slowly, on a photomanip with character to match the one I did of Siyaka, it's turning out great so far, but it's also a REALLY long way from being finished.

The original drawing, btw, is at Cavum-Nimbi's place..... she brought over her scanner and we both forgot to check if anything was inside it when she left again, heh.

When I update I'll delete this WIP.

:D Nice... The only thing I would change is making the tail fin a little more see-through... Just a thought... Don't ya just hate leaving things in scanners/photocopiers... I do it all the time!
:icontsatsayka:
I thought about that early on, when I was first designing her species. I was doing research on fish fins (which meant lots of fish pictures and almost nothing actually written about their fins!) but then I saw the fish that was my major color/pattern/fin arrangement inspiration..... Some of the things had to be changed, of course, but it's fins and coloring were just too cool, so I gave Chet the same general coloring, except teal instead of blue... which meant 'solid' fins.

The tri-color thing going on there, with the black, white and teal.... exchange teal with blue, and thats the color scheme that fish's fins had! I wish I'd found that picture on the internet instead of at my old High School's library, then I'd probably be able to find it again *sigh*

Wait...... I might have combined two cool fish..... which would mean the blue one was fin shape insperation and the green one was color insperation..... Bleh, its been years, I don't remember exactly.

*grin* Inspiration has a habit of slipping away like that... As long as you have the idea, the cause of it doesn't really matter!
:icontsatsayka:
I doesn't really matter, yeah, but it would still be nice to have the pic/s, simply 'cause it/they were cool! (whether it was one or two..... whatever.)

I ADORE how well this is coming out! You're doing a wonderful job. I'll see if I can send the piccy over someday ASAP.

Guess what else I found (and just a couple days ago too)? A piece of paper with names on it...or words...or something, I can't remember, I'll have to go look at it again and I'm so exhausted and sore from almost a full day's work that it's not funny, so I'm just going to sit here at the computer and relax. >.O

Anyway...So TWO of your things came with me. :O
